Network Protocols - set of rules that reins the communications between computers. This rules include guidelines that regulate the characteristics of a network.

Protocol (TCP).
- supports addressing for computers on a network.

          version 4  (IPv4) - IP addresses four bytes (32 bits) in length
           version 6 (IPv6) - IP  addresses 16 bytes (128 bits) in length


TCP – Transmission Control Protocol - used by major Internet applications such as the World Wide Web and  email.



UDP – User Datagram Protocol - a connectionless network protocol that allows computer applications to send messages.

SMTP - Simple Mail Transfer Protocol - is an Internet standard for e-mail transmission across Internet 
Protocol networks.
